End User License Agreement (EULA)

1. Acceptance of Agreement
This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") governs your use of Church Presenter software, applications, websites, documentation, and related services (collectively, the "Software").
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Church Presenter, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement.
If you do not agree to this Agreement, do not install or use the Software.
2. Open-Source License
Church Presenter is free and open-source software distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License Version 3 ("GPLv3"), or any later version published by the Free Software Foundation.
Nothing in this Agreement is intended to limit, modify, or restrict any rights granted to you under the GPLv3.
If any provision of this Agreement conflicts with the GPLv3, the GPLv3 shall control.
A copy of the GPLv3 license is included with the Software and is available at: https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.html
3. License Grant
Subject to compliance with this Agreement and the GPLv3, Church Presenter grants you the right to:
- Installation and use of the Software.
- Copy and distribute the Software.
- Modify the Software.
- Create derivative works.
- Share modified versions in accordance with GPLv3 requirements.
- Use the Software for personal, ministry, educational, nonprofit, and commercial purposes.
4. Ownership
The Software is owned by its respective copyright holders and contributors. This Agreement does not transfer ownership of the Software to you.
The Church Presenter name, logos, trademarks, website content, and branding elements remain the property of their respective owners unless otherwise stated.
5. Community Contributions
By voluntarily submitting code, documentation, translations, artwork, bug reports, feature requests, or other contributions to the Church Presenter Project, you represent that:
- You have the right to submit the contribution.
- Your contribution does not knowingly violate the rights of others.
- You grant the Church Presenter Project the right to use, modify, distribute, and sublicense your contribution as part of the project under applicable open-source licensing terms.
6. Third-Party Components
Church Presenter may include or depend upon third-party software, libraries, fonts, media components, or services that are licensed separately. Such third-party components remain subject to their respective licenses and terms. Examples may include:
- Firebase services
- Google Analytics services
- VLC libraries
- Java Runtime components
- Open-source libraries used for the project
7. Updates
Church Presenter may provide software updates, bug fixes, security improvements, and new features. You are not required to install updates unless necessary for compatibility, security, or functionality. The Church Presenter Project does not guarantee the availability of future updates.
8. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining backups of your data.
- Protecting access to your systems.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Reviewing modified versions before deployment in production environments.
You acknowledge that churches and organizations are responsible for verifying the accuracy of presentation content and schedules used during services or events.
9. No Warranty
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.
THE CHURCH PRESENTER PROJECT, ITS CONTRIBUTORS, MAINTAINERS, DEVELOPERS, VOLUNTEERS, AND COPYRIGHT HOLDERS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING:
- MERCHANTABILITY
- FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- NON-INFRINGEMENT
- ACCURACY
- RELIABILITY
- AVAILABILITY
YOU ASSUME ALL RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH THE INSTALLATION AND USE OF THE SOFTWARE.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE CHURCH PRESENTER PROJECT, CONTRIBUTORS, COPYRIGHT HOLDERS, DEVELOPERS, VOLUNTEERS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY:
- INDIRECT DAMAGES
- INCIDENTAL DAMAGES
- SPECIAL DAMAGES
- CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
- LOSS OF DATA
- LOSS OF PROFITS
- LOSS OF GOODWILL
- BUSINESS INTERRUPTION
- SERVICE DISRUPTION
ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE. THIS LIMITATION APPLIES EVEN IF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES HAS BEEN ADVISED.
11. Trademarks and Branding
The Church Presenter name, logos, graphics, website design elements, and related branding may be protected by trademarks or other intellectual property laws.
GPLv3 does not grant rights to use Church Presenter trademarks or branding in a manner that implies endorsement, sponsorship, or official affiliation.
Modified versions of the Software should not be represented as official Church Presenter releases without permission.
12. Termination
Your rights under this Agreement automatically terminate if you violate the GPLv3 or applicable laws governing the use of the Software. Termination does not affect rights already granted to third parties under open-source licensing terms.
13. Export Compliance
You agree to comply with all applicable export control and sanctions laws governing the distribution and use of software.
14. Governing Law
To the extent permitted by applicable law, this Agreement shall be governed by the laws applicable to the Church Presenter Project's principal place of operation, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
15. Entire Agreement
This Agreement, together with the GPLv3 license and any applicable open-source licenses, constitutes the entire agreement governing your use of the Software.
