This Privacy Policy describes how the Church Presenter Project ("Church Presenter," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use Church Presenter software, mobile applications, websites, and related services.

Church Presenter is an open-source presentation platform designed primarily for churches, ministries, missionaries, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions. The software is available to anyone and is distributed under the GNU General Public License Version 3 (GPLv3).

By using Church Presenter, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Our Privacy Philosophy

Church Presenter is designed to be a privacy-conscious, local-first application. Most presentation content, media files, schedules, settings, and project data are stored locally on the user's device and are not transmitted to Church Presenter servers.

We believe churches and ministries should maintain ownership and control of their content and data.

3. Information We Collect

Information You Voluntarily Provide

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide when contacting support, submitting bug reports, opening GitHub issues, participating in community discussions, or sending emails to project maintainers. This information may include:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Device information included in support requests
  • Crash logs voluntarily submitted by users
  • Any information you choose to provide

Analytics and Diagnostic Data

If the user enables it, Church Presenter may collect anonymous analytics and diagnostic information to improve the software. This may include:

  • Application version
  • Operating system version
  • Device type
  • Feature usage statistics
  • Session information
  • Performance metrics
  • Crash reports
  • Error diagnostics

The user may turn off analytics collection at any time through application settings, where available.

Crash Reports

Church Presenter may use Firebase Crashlytics and other diagnostic tools to identify software defects and improve stability. Crash reports may contain:

  • Stack traces
  • Error messages
  • Technical diagnostic information

Crash reports are used solely for troubleshooting and improving Church Presenter.

Local Crash Logs

The desktop application may create crash logs on the user's device when an unexpected error occurs. These logs are stored locally and are not transmitted to Church Presenter unless the user chooses to share them through support requests or bug reports.

4. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

Church Presenter does not intentionally collect, monitor, or store:

  • Worship presentation content
  • Song databases
  • Bible databases
  • Sermon notes
  • Media libraries
  • Church membership information
  • Donation or financial information
  • Attendance records

…unless such information is voluntarily submitted to us as part of a support request, bug report, or troubleshooting process.

5. Third-Party Services

Church Presenter may utilize third-party services, including:

Google Analytics

Google Analytics may be used to understand software and website usage patterns. Google may collect information in accordance with its privacy policies.

Firebase Analytics

Firebase Analytics may collect anonymous usage information when enabled by the user.

Firebase Crashlytics

Firebase Crashlytics may collect crash and diagnostic information to improve application reliability.

Sentry

Sentry may be used to collect error reports and performance monitoring data to improve application stability. Sentry's privacy practices govern information collected through this service.

GitHub

Source code, issue tracking, and community collaboration are hosted through GitHub. GitHub's privacy practices govern information submitted through GitHub.

6. Cookies

Church Presenter does not place cookies on users' devices for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes. Third-party services integrated into the website may use their own technologies as governed by their respective privacy policies.

7. How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Improve software functionality
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues
  • Improve stability and performance
  • Respond to support requests
  • Maintain security
  • Develop new features
  • Understand how Church Presenter is used

We do not sell personal information. We do not use collected information for targeted advertising.

11. Children's Privacy

Church Presenter is designed primarily for organizations, churches, ministries, and educational institutions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that personal information of a child has been submitted, we will take reasonable steps to remove it.

12. Open Source Transparency

Church Presenter is open-source software. The source code is publicly available and may be independently reviewed, audited, modified, and redistributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License Version 3 (GPLv3).

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on the Church Presenter website and will include an updated revision date.
